The Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been fairly disappointed during this campaign, with the contingent looking resigned to the fact that they won’t win the Premier League yet again!
It is 12 seasons since the Gunners were last crowned as the champions of England and many of their disgruntled punters feel it is simply not good enough.
With Arsene Wenger unlikely to leave in the summer, the club’s hierarchy will hand him a massive bounty in order for him to build a squad capable of winning the major honours once more.
With doubts cast over the futures of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott, the club’s supporters who are in the Tavern are concerned at the lack of home grown talent that could be present in the squad next season.

John Stones
The Everton defender looks destined to leave the Toffees during the summer and with Arsenal looking to spend big, Stones could be just the man to solve their sometimes slack defence.
The youngster has on occasions this season cost Everton goals but he is still learning his trade, with his undoubted talent to see him emerge as one of the country’s top defenders in future years.
The ex-Barnsley man is wanted by several big clubs with Spanish club Barcelona claiming to be interested recently, although that possibility does seem a little unrealistic based on his current form.
Troy Deeney
The self confessed Arsenal supporter was linked with the Gunners earlier in the season although a move never came to fruition.
Deeney isn’t the most obvious Arsenal sort of signing ever, but with the club looking a little frail in attack, they could certainly do a lot worse.
The 27-year-old is a hard working striker who loves to bring other players into the game, whilst scoring goals at the same time.
He possesses the total package in terms of being a front man and the Gunners wouldn’t have to break the bank to get Deeney.
Daniel Sturridge
The injury-prone Liverpool striker might be set to move away from the Reds this summer, with Jurgen Klopp seemingly running out of patience with the ex-Chelsea man.
Liverpool may look to offload Sturridge and sign a striker who is more reliable when it comes to picking up small knocks and niggles.
Arsenal will definitely be looking to sign a striker to ensure that they are well equipped to make a proper fist of winning the title next season, with Sturridge fitting the bill.
The 26-year-old might get a one last chance to perform at Liverpool, but if not the Gunners might be a good option for the player.
Will Hughes
The 21-year-old was born and raised in Surrey and a move back south could be on the horizon, should one of the country’s big boys make a bid.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has a history of bringing in younger players and giving them a chance in the first-team and Hughes is a future England international for sure.
Despite his tender years Hughes has already played over 100 times for Derby County and if the Rams make a mess of their promotion bid this season, they could struggle to keep hold of their prized central midfielder.
Hughes fits into the Arsenal style of play too. He likes to get on the ball and has a superb eye for a pass.
You get the impression that Hughes will thrive in a team full of better quality players than those at Championship level.
Jamie Vardy
Another striker who could be set to leave his current club is Leicester City sensation Jamie Vardy, with several big clubs courting the player.
The fact that he is now 29-years-old may put the likes of Arsenal off, although his ability to turn nothing into something is a big attribute of Vardy’s game.
Arsene Wenger likes his strikers to offer more to their game than just goals and he would certainly get that with Vardy.
Leicester will embark on a Champions League campaign next season but longevity of playing in the competition with Arsenal, year after year, could be a more appealing thought for the Sheffield-born striker.
