The transfer window is shut, bringing an end to the big business, but Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern still have plenty to discuss this week.
The emergency loan window opens next Tuesday, on pancake day no less, and lasts until the end of March- which gives Premier League clubs the chance to offload talent on-loan to sides in the Football League, where they can earn immense experience.
One club our punters believe should use this opportunity is Arsenal, stating that a few of their squad would benefit vastly from spending time elsewhere and earning first-team football. With these loans lasting between 28 and 93 days, it wouldn’t deplete the Gunners squad drastically.
A few surprise names were brought up by our fans though, with our landlord doesn’t agree with, but we’ll let you be the judge of that- would you prevent any of these guys being loaned out by Arsene Wenger in the coming weeks?

Serge Gnabry
A player extremely likely to move away from Arsenal until the end of the season imminently is Serge Gnabry, who needs first-team football after a wasted stint with West Brom during the first-half of the season.
Arsene Wenger revealed on Deadline Day that two Championship clubs are seeking Gnabry’s signature, believed to be Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday, and this spell really could be the making of the exciting German talent.
With first-team experience already under his belt at Arsenal, Gnabry has to build himself back after injury problems and will look to push himself into Wenger’s options for the next campaign. There’s set to be a big reshuffle in the summer and Gnabry will want to use that to his benefit.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
A big name at Arsenal, and regular first-team man, it’s fair to say Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been tremendously uninspiring this season. Falling down in the pecking order behind Joel Campbell, and potentially young Alex Iwobi, the England international needs to find his feet fast.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is becoming somewhat of a liability to Arsenal and hasn’t really offered much this season, although he still possesses a wealth of talent. Send him on-loan to tear the Championship apart in a short spell and he could return to Arsenal with vast confidence, ready to step-up and become the player Arsenal need him to be.
Calum Chambers
Mathieu Debuchy’s exit to Bordeaux has likely ruled this one out, with Calum Chambers the back-up to Hector Bellerin at right-back, but a loan for the English prospect could be the making of him- as long as Arsenal ensure there’s a recall clause in any deal.
Chambers started for the Gunners at right-back last season, before enduring a torrid time against Jefferson Montero, and his future lies in the centre of the field. Seen as a centre-back option, he’s fourth choice at Arsenal but has trained in a defensive midfield role.
With Arsenal welcoming Francis Coquelin back, Chambers will see his chances of first-team football drop significantly. Moving to the Football League will give Chambers more experience in his new role, helping him to become a massive part of the squad next year.
Jeff Reine-Adelaide
Jeff Reine-Adelaide made his Arsenal first-team bow this season and starred against Sunderland in the third-round of the FA Cup. However, with every game in the Premier League being decisive and Arsenal in the latter stages of the FA Cup now, as well as facing Barcelona in the Champions League, it would be a surprise to see him feature regularly.
A spell in the Championship for the 17-year-old would be extremely beneficial and regular first-team football could help this hot prospect reach the next level. He would be a tremendous asset for any side in the second-tier and the regular football would do him the world of good.
Krystian Bielik
Remember when Arsenal signed this young Polish ace and people expected him to be Arsene Wenger’s answer to a defensive midfield crisis? Good times. Unsurprisingly, the teenage midfielder has spent a year developing in the youth set-up.
Turning 18 this week, it’s a crucial few years for Bielik’s development as he works towards a role in the first-team. A spell away from the club would be extremely beneficial, as Bielik could find himself stepping up into the first-team squad next year with Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky seeing their contracts expire.
For that to happen, Bielik needs regular playing time and a test in the Championship would be the making of him.
