Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool regime is off to a good start as, although rather inconsistent, the German has begun to make his mark on the underperforming Reds.
It’s pretty obvious that Liverpool haven’t been up to expectations for a number of years, with the title-chasing side of two years ago led by Luis Suarez. In truth, the Reds were reliant on the talented South American for that entire campaign.
Without him, Liverpool soon took two-steps back and lost their Champions League spot. They’re in with a chance of clinching that position again this season but improvements need to be made, particularly in the area of recruits.
Whilst a lot of attention will be upon who Jurgen Klopp brings into Anfield, it’s also important to keep tabs on who will be going out. Liverpool have a number of players who, although talented, aren’t quite up to scratch for such an illustrious side.
Those names will probably be offloaded imminently and Liverpool fans should be preparing to wave goodbye to this lot in the New Year.

Jose Enrique
Yes, he’s still around. The Spanish full-back lost his first-team spot due to extensive injury problems and he’s been unable to reclaim it since. With it apparent there’s no way back for the former Newcastle United man, Liverpool should cut their losses.
Enrique’s spell at Liverpool has been rather disappointing and he’s one of those players who is talented but can be deemed as not at the standard the Reds require. Good for a mid-table side, a team with vast European aspirations is too good for Enrique.
Alberto Moreno
Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva was tipped to leave in the summer but decided to fight-on for his Liverpool future and he’s performed admirably since, becoming a regular feature in the first-team to the surprise of many.
However, with suggestions that Liverpool are eying midfield recruits in January, Leiva will tumble down the pecking order once again. In order to keep the harmony within the squad, Leiva should be offloaded and he deserves that chance after tremendous service to the club.
Joe Allen
Another signing who’s not quite the standard Liverpool require, especially if they are to enter the Champions League, is Joe Allen. Signed from Swansea City, he was a questionable recruit of Brendan Rodgers.
Like Leiva, Allen should be allowed to leave as the Reds search for better-suited midfielders. Allen has been utilised this season but that’s likely to change depending on the January recruits, so he could be offloaded to make way for incoming deals.
Daniel Sturridge
A highly controversial selection, we’ll admit, but it would be difficult for Liverpool to turn down a lucrative offer for Daniel Sturridge. The England international is one of the best strikers the Reds have had at their disposal for years but his injury record is a major problem.
With Sturridge you’re guaranteed goals but you’re also guaranteed to be without your star man for a hefty chunk of the campaign. For the money Liverpool would receive for Sturridge, there’s strikers out there that can perform on a weekly basis- which is something Sturridge can never guarantee.
