Everton fans in Transfer Tavern agree that David Moyes has had a troubled few years since he left Everton, acquiring international criticism whilst Head Coach of Manchester United and following up with an unimpressive reign as manager of Real Sociedad.
Moyes has been out work since November; a poor start to the 2015/16 season subsequently meant he was sacked by Sociedad Chairman, Jokin Aperribay, one day before his year anniversary with the club.
The Glaswegian has since been linked with the Toffees as Roberto Martinez’s results become increasingly scrutinised by the Everton board.
Everton have an exciting squad with Romelu Lukaku, Gerard Deulofeu, Ross Barkley, Aaron Lennon all hitting top form throughout the season but they have struggled to put a solid run of results together and Goodison has been a shadow of the fortress it once was.

Aiden McGeady
A player who was signed with a fair amount of expectation, McGeady made 32 appearances for Everton last season in which he only managed to find the net once. McGeady was routinely subbed off the pitch after 60 minutes after starting the match and Martinez soon used him primarily as a substitute.
McGeady was sent out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday in January and has made 12 appearances scoring 1 goal; he is not a regular starter. With Deulofeu, Lennon and Kevin Mirallas all a favoured choice, McGeady s dead weight in an area where Everton are strong.
Tony Hibbert
Hibbert is 35 years-old and has often been seen making the odd appearance when Seamus Coleman has had an injury.
However, the emergence of Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning at full-back gives little importance to Hibbert’s presence in the squad.
Darron Gibson
Gibson has made 14 appearances in the last two years for Everton and has been a different player since his injury to his knee in the 2013/14 season. His on and off injuries since have made him a liability rather than an asset.
After being a member of the club for five years, Gareth Barry, Mohamed Besic and James McCarthy are all preferred to the Irishman and an exit in the summer is likely.
Matthew Pennington
Pennington has had three unsuccessful loan spells at Coventry, Tranmere and Walsall.
With John Stones, Ramiro Funes Mori and Phil Jagielka all in good form, is likely to look for a permanent move elsewhere.
Steven Pienaar
Another injury mess, Pienaar was named Everton’s player of the year in their 2009/10 season but has since been plagued by niggles.
Pienaar has only made three appearances and, as mentioned before, is struggling to find a space on the wing with Everton’s attacking options in good shape.
