5 players that could follow Coutinho out of Liverpool in the summer

The Daily Mail are reporting that Liverpool’s Philipe Coutinho could be subject to a move to PSG this transfer window and our Reds fans in the Transfer Tavern are worried.

Arguably the Anfield outfit’s best player, the tricky Brazilian has shone this season just gone and at times has looked simply unplayable.

Playing under Jurgen Klopp seems to have given the former Inter Milan man a new level of performance too, and if the Reds are serious about returning to the top four anytime soon, keeping Coutinho is paramount to this.

Liverpool will be embarking on their first summer window under Klopp and many changes are expected both in and out, but you’d be hard pressed to find a Reds fan wanting to see the little South American leave.

If he does go, replacing him will be a vital task for Klopp but it may not be the only outgoing at the club this summer.

Our landlord thinks this FIVE could also be on their way out of Anfield too…..

Christian Benteke

Christian Benteke

Reportedly subject to interest from Chelsea, the Belgian has had a less than impressive first campaign on Merseyside. After joining from Aston Villa big things were expected from the striker, given that he was now set to be playing in a team that could give him more chances.

For a number of reasons though, it hasn’t worked out and with Klopp’s high energy pressing style Benteke could find further playing time hard to come by – time for a move.

Simon Mignolet

Simon Mignolet

With Loris Karius coming in  the doubts that were already lingering over Simon Mignolet’s number one status have increased. Karius has been brought in to be Liverpool’s main man between the sticks and if Mignolet cannot improve on the mistakes that have blighted his Anfield career he won’t be lasting much longer at the club.

A good shot stopper but the command of his area has been in question for some time, and so he could be looking for employment elsewhere this summer.

Martin Skrtel

Skrtel

Skrtel has been at the club longer than most of the players, but it seems as though his time is up at the club.

Besiktas are rumoured to be interested and with Klopp preferring Dejan Lovren, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure ahead of the Slovakian it suggests a move is on the cards.

Skrtel has been solid enough for the Reds but this season began to show signs of declining and this is why he’ll be shipped out.

Alberto Moreno

Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool - Barclays Premier League

It’s a tough one with the Spanish left back. Going forward he’s a real threat and his left foot seems to have a cannon behind it when he shoots.

Defensively though – which is obviously the primary facet of a full back – Moreno struggles.

The Spaniard has been caught out of position a number of crucial times and his ability to make a clean challenge leaves a lot to be desired.

If the Reds find another left back it’s likely Moreno will be on his way out.

Lucas Leiva

Lucas Leiva

Lucas has been a valuable servant for the Reds after shaking the initial criticisms of him in his early Anfield career ,but Klopp may feel it’s time though for the Brazilian to up sticks as the German ushers in a new era.

Defensively Lucas is still at the top of his game but might find the pace Klopp wants his midfielders to work at too different from his natural game, has become a fan favourite but many will accept his stint is perhaps over.
