What has come over Arsene Wenger!
The Frenchman who usually has such a stubborn approach to the Transfer market but has already signed Granit Xhaka and looks to be securing a couple more deals already… and the Transfer window is not even open yet!
According to reports from the Mirror via the Express, Arsenal are searching for two more players, Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Juventus striker Alvaro Morata.
These are two players that could certainly help improve Arsenal’s second place finish from this season. Arsenal were expected by many, including us at the Tavern, to take home the title with ease, but as per usual, Arsene Wenger’s men fell away and in the end, finished 10 points adrift of the champions, Leicester.
The only positive from the miserable campaign was finishing above rivals, Tottenham.
Arsenal need to bulk up the squad to be real title-challengers, Arsenal have fallen away too many times to injuries and here are FIVE players that could follow Koulibaly and Morata to the Emirates this summer…..

N’Golo Kante

The Standard reports that N’Golo Kante could follow Granit Xhaka to the Emirates.
Kante made more interceptions than any man in Europe’s top leagues and would without a doubt be a solid choice for Arsenal.
His release clause is just £20 million, the landlord at the Tavern is begging Wenger to open up his wallet!
Henrikh Mkhitaryan

The Armenian captain had another great campaign for Borussia Dortmund.
The 27-year-old plays on the wing but definitely scores more than Walcott and Chamberlain.
Mkhitaryan grabbed 23 goals and a staggering 32 assists throughout the season and that is just part of the reason that we recommend Wenger to swoop for him.
Mkhitaryan is always a threat, great on the ball and provides to everyone on the pitch.
Medhi Benatia

The 29-year-old has reportedly been a target of Arsene Wenger for some time now, the Mirror say that Arsenal have been in contact with Bayern Munich over a possible deal for the Moroccan centre back.
He may fit in well at Arsenal, probably as a replacement for Per Mertesacker.
Islam Slimani

Who? The landlord at the Tavern bets you have never heard of this one but the Algerian forward has netted 31 times this season and provided 6 assists for Sporting Lisbon.
90Min have reported that he is a target of Arsenal, and with records like that, it is easy to see why.
Rachid Ghezzal

Another man here who you may not have heard of, but remember, you had barely heard of Thierry Henry either before he came to Arsenal.
Ghezzal scored 10 goals and provided 9 assists for Lyon this season in France, the 24-year-old is a skilful winger who would be a great competition for Walcott, Campbell and Chamberlain.
Foot01.com via Tribal Football seem to think that Arsenal are interested in the Algerian. Is he the next Riyad Mahrez?
