5 players who could follow Leroy Sane to Man United in the summer

Manchester United have had a rather inconsistent season, and the Red Devils fans here in the Transfer Tavern are desperate to see the club spend some serious money in the summer.

The Red Devils may still win the FA Cup but for many that will only paper of the cracks, of a campaign that has seen many of the Old Trafford faithful grow weary of Louis Van Gaal’s playing style and tactics.

Throw into that Van Gaal’s largely unsuccessful record in the transfer market has meant things have been far from plain sailing for the Dutchman, in his time at the club.

Many United fans here in Transfer Tavern are hoping that LVG will not be in the dugout come the start of the 2016/17 season, but that is sure to not be the only change at the club over the next few months.

Goal are reporting the Red Devils want to sign Schalke wonderkid Leroy Sane.

Sane has recently broken on to the scene and has been named in the Germany provisional squad for EURO 2016, so looks to have a bright future ahead of him wherever he moves.

United will want to bring in Sane to push for the top four next season at leas,t and here in the Transfer Tavern we think this FIVE could follow him to United in the summer……

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The future of the unmistakable frontman is one of this transfer windows most talked about subjects.

It’s likely the former Barcelona striker is going to be in the Premier League next season but at which club is anyone’s guess.

United are thought to be one of the main candidates to secure his signature, and it would make sense given their current first choice is the youngster Marcus Rashford.

Joao Mario

The Sporting Lisbon player can play out on the right or in central midfield and would add the creative flair United so sorely need.

He’s scored seven goals and added a further twelve assists this season for the team from the Portuguese capital, as well as earning eight international caps, but the main advantage of this deal would be that the transfer fee would be relatively cheap, something United have missed out on a lot in recent times.

Andre Gomes

Gomes is an up and coming midfielder for Valencia.

Four goals and seven assists make for solid if unspectacular reading, but at the age of 22, Gomes is only going to improve and has been slightly shackled by his club’s stop start season.

Gomes is a versatile player down the left side and in the middle and would provide some fresh legs in place of Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Raphael Varane

United really could do with a world class centre half and Raphael Varane of Real Madrid would be the perfect fit.

The young Frenchman has playing time limited by Sergio Ramos and Pepe being preferred in the Madrid defence, and needs to leave if he is going to be one of the best in the world.

Toni Kroos

Kroos to Manchester United is one of the regular rumours every summer, even when he was at Bayern Munich.

The German World Cup winner would transform the United side overnight with his passing and would enjoy being the main man in the Red Devils’ midfield, something he does not get at Real Madrid.

Kroos came in as the man to replace Xabi Alonso at the Bernabeu but looks to have been overshadowed by Luka Modric in this instance, so perhaps a change of scenery would change his fortunes.
