As always, Celtic are flying high in the Scottish Premier League and their fans here in the Tavern are growing increasingly confident about a league win come the end of the campaign!
Table wise, Brendan Rodgers’ side are streaks ahead of closest rivals Rangers, who just don’t have the same quality or budget as the Bhoys these days and more success seems to be in the cards.
They had a decent run in the Champions League this campaign, and all in all, it’s been a pretty fruitful campaign for the Hoops so far this campaign, but attention is quickly turning to January when the transfer window opens.
It’s clear Rodgers needs a little more quality going forward if the SPFL champions are to really compete at the highest level in Europe and their fans here in the pub are insistent that a couple of good signings could be enough.
So with that in mind, here are FIVE potential signings Brendan Rodgers should be chasing this January…
Bartosz Kapustka

Leicester City youngster Bartosz Kapustka is struggling to get game time having made the move to England earlier this summer.
One of Poland’s brightest young stars, the 19-year-old winger is yet to make an appearance for the Foxes first-team this season and a loan move would be best for his continued development.
And why not choose Celtic if the opportunity arises? He’s got over 14 international caps and became a firm favourite during his short senior spell with Cracovia. One for the future and a young man who could turn into a real star.
Nikola Vukcevic
One of the real powerhouses in Braga’s tough-looking midfield, Nikola Vukcevic is a 25-year-old Montenegran international who has been tipped as one of the most underrated players around.
Not many Celtic fans here in the pub know of his existence, but over in mountainous Braga, he’s known as one of the hardest midfielders around- a man that loves cutting out play in the middle-of-the-park.
He’s a player that would add real muscle to the Celtic midfield.
Iago Aspas

He was often tipped as one of the worst signings of Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool tenure but right now, he’s on fire for Celta Vigo.
We’re finally beginning to see why the Northern Irishman brought him to Anfield in the first place and there have been plenty of outlets linking him with a move away from Spain this winter after some fantastic form.
Dwight Gayle

He’s one of the in-form players in England, let alone in the Championship and it’s clear that Dwight Gayle will be on plenty of radars come January and even the summer.
He’s a pacy customer who is already close to the 20-goal mark even at this early stage in the season. He’d give Celtic fantastic depth up front and added to the likes of Dembele and Griffiths, he’d be a great option in attack.
Bojan

Stoke City’s creative attacker Bojan isn’t enjoying quite as good a year this time round and he’s struggling for game time.
The former Barcelona man has only started four Premier League games this season and plenty of outlets are suggesting he’s growing frustrated with his lack of play time at the Britannia this campaign.
A move to Celtic would be a different one but he’d give Rodgers a fantastic option upfront.
