5 Premier League strikers on the move this month

A busy night in the Transfer Tavern as we have many fans from all over, from Crystal to Spurs fans and loads of others, our landlord spotted an opportunity to ask a few questions to our Premier League fans.

One of the topics our landlord posed to the fans in the Tavern was which Premier League strikers would be on the move during this January transfer window, as we approach the final week of the window.

As we know many Premier League clubs need a striker, with Tottenham needing a back-up for Harry Kane, Jürgen Klopp needing a more reliable front-man than Sturridge and Aston Villa looking extremely depleted.

The top sides also need alternations, with Manchester United weak in their forward line whilst Chelsea have lost all their attacking flair.

So which Premier League striker’s are moving on? Here’s five that could swap clubs before February 2nd.

Saido Berahino

Our first name given by one of the Baggie’s fans was indeed Berahino, who has been linked with a move since last summer where Tottenham was thought to be the place he was going to end up.

Howeve,  since them Spurs’ interest seems to off cooled but there are still plenty of suitors for the want-away forward.

Links with Leicester, Newcastle have come to the forefront and either place would suit him, although £14million for the player now seems a little excessive since he has just four goals and severe lack of minutes on the pitch.

Dwight Gayle

The Crystal Palace front man is becoming increasingly frustrated by the lack of first team opportunities according to our Palace fans in the tavern.

Couple this with the fact Alan Pardew is actively seeking another striker to bring into the club, it could all spell the end for Gayle at Palace.

Especially when your manger says in an interview we are looking for a Dwight Gayle type player, it shows the forward is out of the plans for the Eagles boss.

Shane Long

A Saints fan chimed in with this little gem, as Shane Long is being linked with a move to Liverpool, among other places.

With the arrival of new striker Charlie Austin, who scored a winner against Manchester United on his debut, it seems likely that one or more of Southampton’s forwards will be leaving St Mary’s during this Transfer Window.

Long has played 28 games and scored ten goals so far this season, which is not bad for a player who is valued around £12million.

Christian Benteke

Clearly not fancied by Jurgen Klopp, there could be an escape route for the £32miollion forward as teams have made speculative inquiries for the player.

Although nothing concrete has come as yet, a number of Premier League sides have considered either making a bid or a possible loan move for the powerful forward- and if Liverpool get someone else in it could be an option.

The Liverpool move has not gone as well as he would of hoped and he may yet stay and fight for his place, though an exit in the future seems inevitable.

Gabriel Agbonlahor

The Aston Villa forward has been linked with a move away from Villa park in part because they are starting to prepare for life outside of the top-flight and are keen to move on their big earners of the wage bill.

Aston Villa fans will be sad to see this player move on but on the other hand sometimes you need to freshen things up and should he leave it wont be on bad terms with the clubs fans- and he’s also past his best.
