With speculation at an all time high at present about the future of current manager Louis Van Gaal at Manchester United attention is turning to his possible successor at Old Trafford come the summer months.
Reports over recent days suggest that the hierarchy at Old Trafford have already agreed a three year deal with Jose Mourinho to take control during the summer after what has been a season of disappointment at Old Trafford in terms of performances on the pitch.
Whether Mourinho could add anything to United and improve the mentality of the current players that will be at his disposal come next season remains to be seen should he take over.

Ego
Jose Mourinho is the ultimate brash and arrogant Portugese manager, who rarely admits his faults.
His blaming of officials, players and conditions to name but a few, are always left feeling the brunt of his anger should his sides ever lose a game.
No one can deny the success he has gained throughout his career, but any criticism directed at him is always met with a frosty response and he is never the one at fault.
Defensive style of play
A lot of criticism has been aimed at Van Gaal this season for United’s lack of impressive attacking football.
Mourinho’s sides are known for grinding out results and being stable at the back in order to gain success. During his time at Chelsea in games against title rivals Mourinho’s sides have been known to park the bus in order to get a 1-0 win.
Would the United fans accept this style of play from one of their sides? Judging from the criticism of Van Gaal it would appear not.
Third year struggles
During his spells as manager of Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid, Mourinho has struggled in the third year.
None more so than during the first months of this season, which saw his spell at Stamford Bridge come to an abrupt end with the club perilously close to the relegation zone.
With United looking for stability, Mourinho would definitely not be looking to remain at Old Trafford for the rest of his career and with the club looking for longevity from a manager it is also another flaw in Mourinho’s copybook.
Lack of utilising youth players
Mourinho has never been one to utilise a club’s youth system, preferring to pay over inflated wages for over hyped international names.
He has spent many out for loan spells away from the club and then agreed to let them leave once they return, a prime example is the talented front man Romelu Lukaku who was sold to Everton by the Portugese boss, who would never admit that the sale of the Belgian was a big mistake during his tenure.
With United known for bringing kids through the ranks of he takes over many will be forced to admit that their careers lie away from Old Trafford.
Splits the dressing room
A big problem for Mourinho is dressing room harmony he is known for calling players out in front of the TV cameras if they have not performed to the standards he has set.
A prime example of this comes with him dropping John Terry, Eden Hazard and Diego Costa as he made his point that they were players to blame at various times during his failures with Chelsea this season.
All the above named players are now back to their usual best since the arrival of Guus Hiddink at Stamford Bridge, none more so that Diego Costa who has once again found that goal scoring touch.
