It’s been a relatively quiet transfer window for Arsenal fans once again, with only Mohamed Elneny arriving to keep our punters in the Transfer Tavern quiet, but there’s every chance of developments being made today.
The Gunners have left it late in the past, with top-class acquisitions on the final day of the transfer window including the record-breaking deal for Mesut Ozil and the signing of current club captain Mikel Arteta, though both of those deals were made in summer windows.
Nevertheless, Arsenal need recruits to increase their chances of landing their first Premier League title in 12 years and a reluctance to buy could mean they miss out once again- which would raise further questions of whether Arsene Wenger’s duty in North London is complete.
Our fans aren’t too optimistic Wenger will flex his financial muscles today but they’ve kept their eyes on potential recruits nonetheless and have identified these five players as those who could make the move to NW5 before 11pm.

Andriy Yarmolenko
Last week a surprise deal emerged on the cards, as reports stated Arsenal have agreed a £23m fee to capture Andriy Yarmolenko.
Whilst those reports stated that the deal for the Dynamo Kiev star would go through in the summer, we may see an official confirmation emerge before tomorrow’s window slams shut- and there’s every chance Arsenal could accelerate a move.
The name certainly surprised many when it popped up in the latter stages of last week, with Arsenal quite strong in the wide areas, but with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey both destined for roles in the centre it could make some sense.
Kelechi Nwakali & Samuel Chukwueze
A deal for Nigeria U17 World Cup winning duo Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze seems complete, with the pair being pictured with Arsene Wenger over the weekend.
However, no official confirmation has emerged yet and it seems likely that Arsenal will be saving the announcement of this deal until Monday. That said, the pair won’t be seen in the first-team for a while and are instead ones for the future.
It’s a very Arsene Wenger-like signing, who of course added Polish prospect Krystian Bielik to the ranks in this window last year, but it won’t be enough to appease supporters in the bar.
Marcelo Brozovic
The Inter Milan midfielder seems to be on his way out of the San Siro before tomorrow’s deadline and Bleacher Report cite a number of different sources and indicate Arsenal are a potential destination.
Arsenal have been linked with the midfielder before but the recent addition of Mohamed Elneny appeared to have the position covered for the time being, though midfield recruits in the summer are necessary with Mathieu Flamini, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky all seeing their contracts expire.
For Arsenal to complete this move it would need some very swift negotiations but the Gunners are a very professional club, so nothing is ruled-out.
Isco
If this move were to transpire, then it would immediately be the biggest signing of the transfer window. Whilst it seems unrealistic, reports last week indicated Isco is Arsenal’s for £25m.
Isco faces immense competition for a midfield spot at Real Madrid and he’s reported to be extremely unhappy. Though Real Madrid rate the player highly, particular manager Zinedine Zidane who helped persuade the Spaniard to move to the Santiago Bernabeu from Malaga, a sale is appealing.
Santi Cazorla isn’t getting any younger at Arsenal and our fans indicate Isco would be the ideal long-term replacement. He’d be able to cover a variety of roles, capable of playing in the centre and out-wide, and he’d definitely boost the Gunners title chances.
