Watford had an impressive start to the season, proving a hard side to beat in the big games, and famously beating Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates to take them to an FA Cup final.
But after losing to Crystal Palace in the final, the Hornets’ season has become derailed and their Premier League campaign has fallen dramatically whilst their goal scoring problems continue.
Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney have contributed to 82% of Watford’s goals this season and they are desperately in need of some creative talent in the midfield to provide another outlet.
Quique Sanchez Flores, however, has done a miraculous job if you look at the season as a whole, and despite Watford’s dip in form, they are safe and in no relegation trouble.
But, if Watford are to bring in some new faces to fight for their top tier status, Transfer Tavern have analysed FIVE players the manager should consider letting go in the summer….

Jose Holebas
After a poor start to his Watford career last year, Holebas sits behind Nathan Ake and Ikechi Anya in the pecking order for the left-back spot and has not made an appearance for the Hornets in 2016.
He is seemingly not a first-team regular, so surely it would make sense for Flores to cut his losses and offload Holebas.
Adlene Guedioura
After failing to impress Sanchez Flores this season, Guedoura has only made 10 appearances in all competitions for Watford this season and is set for an exit in the summer.
The midfielder did score an unbelievable goal against Arsenal in the Emirates FA Cup this season, but really that has been his only contribution to the Hornets this season.
Nordin Amrabat
Amrabat has made five appearances for Sanchez Flores since his arrival in the summer of last year, as Almen Abdi and Jose Jurado have cemented the winger positions of this term.
Amrabat is expected to seek more game time elsewhere, as he clearly hasn’t settled in well at Vicarage Road.
A player that just doesn’t seem up to life in the top-flight of English football.
Mario Suarez
One of Watford’s most exciting signings, Mario Suarez made his move from Atletico Madrid last summer but has since made only 11 appearances in all competitions for the Hornets, as Etienne Capoue and Ben Watson have been preferred in the CM positions.
Suarez may seek a move back to La Liga in the summer, as it isn’t happening for him in the Premier League.
A selection likely to cause controversy amongst Hornets fans….
Juan Carlos Paredes
Paredes made 39 appearances in all competitions last season but has only made 11 since the step up to the Premier League.
Captain, Allan Nyom, has been arguably Watford’s best player this season and Paredes may be allowed to leave in the summer if he is unhappy.
Paredes is simply a utility player as it stands, and the Hornets may be better off just cutting all losses with the defender.
