77% Of Arsenal Fans Say Arsene’s Stubborness Has Cost Dearly This Season

The results from our Arsenal Survey are in.

Firstly I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to join in. Thanks to you, I believe you’ve provided a decent picture of how your average Gooner in the street is thinking.

As the headline says, 73% of you felt that there had been a damaging in flexibility in relation to Arsene’s buying strategy.

But that said, it was an even 60/40 split in favour of giving The Boss more time. In an era when football managers change quicker than socks, this was an intelligent view in my opinion.

The question of discipline didn’t go down too well. Despite the total cards under Arsene coming up for 100, 58% said discipline at The Emirates was ‘no worse than anyone elses.’

26% in the same question conceded that there was too much complaining, too many excuses from Arsenal players. So less bitching whilst you kick people up in the air, at least – eh?

On the excuses issue… This was a split deal.

32% said they sympathized with a few – but they generally sounded pathetic. 29% were sick of the whole ‘grass is too long’, ‘the pitch was too muddy’, ‘the crowd was too loud’ nonsense.27% splintered themselves saying they agreed ‘with some.’

As far as who would nick that ‘other’ top 4 spot, Gooners were pretty resolved. City with 77%! The dirty Spuds a reluctant 2nd with 22% and Liverpool just on the radar in 3rd.

Question 5 got interesting.

‘So What’s Missing?’ had 56% of you wanting a couple of decent signings. 27% A manager with a more adaptable approach tactically. For relevance, if we jump to the last question, only 20% wanted a new manager – over 80% would be happy with a couple decent signings and crucially – a leader on the pitch.

80% of you thought Andrei Arshavin hadn’t had a bad season, but rarely looked sufficiently motivated.

On Bendtner, 64% felt he wasn’t good enough and 34% felt he was too inconsistent. 2% thought he was ‘Magnificent’ –  So don’t give up Nicky!

Delusion clouded Question 9 – Surely? Compared to the The Invincibles the current squad is... Inspired a combined 50% to believe that it was either not quite as good or developing well.

So in a nutshell – 2 or 3 solid signings and a real leader on the pitch. This would pretty much make everyone happy – or happier. Arsene – Chin up mate – only 20% want you gone!

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
