As per the Daily Mail (via The Daily Record), Ryan Fraser is set to move to Everton on a free transfer – all but confirming that Aberdeen will receive no money for his departure despite them having a 20% sell-on clause in the deal that took him from Pittodrie to Dean Court.
The Scotland international moved to Bournemouth in 2013 for £432,000 – far from a huge sum, but the Dons did have a 20% sell-on clause in that deal.

However, the 25-year-old has ran down his contract on the south-coast, and as such, as he approaches a move to the Toffees, Aberdeen are set to lose out on any fee whatsoever.
Fraser rose to prominence in the Premier League last season, when he racked up 14 assists in the English top flight. Currently valued at £15.75m by Transfermarkt, there have been reports that he was previously worth £30m – any fee around that price would have seen the Dons pick up a cool £6m.

Now, though, they will not receive a penny, which is a harsh blow to the Scottish side. After all, they confirmed on Thursday that they have needed to ask staff to take wage cuts due to their poor financial situation following the outbreak of the current pandemic.
There is no doubt Dave Cormack could have done with a windfall from a Fraser transfer. As it is, though, they will need to look for other sources of revenue.
