While Tottenham Hotspur’s work in the transfer market has been widely celebrated for the last few years by the punters in the Transfer Tavern, one deal looks to be a stinker.
Though the capture of Dele Alli looks to be an inspired one, the mega money they spent on bringing Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko to north London doesn’t look like the wisest of investments.
It’s widely believed that the Frenchman was also of interest in Everton, meaning both the Magpies and the Toffees in the Tavern reacted with delight as the Les Blues star continues to struggle in the white of Spurs.
Undoubtedly a powerhouse on his day, the 27-year-old’s failure to convince he’s worth anywhere near the reported £30m fee splashed out on him has put smiles on the faces of the Everton and Newcastle fans in the bar.
For the Spurs fans, however, it’s not such a laughing matter.
So, with that said, here’s how Everton and Newcastle fans reacted to another Sissoko stinker.

I love seeing #Spurs fans suffer with Sissoko on their side. So glad we got rid of him and for a good sum too #NUFC

Warms my heart to see Sissoko not do well. Overrated and over priced waste of space. Everton dodged a huge bullet #NUFC #THFC #EFC
