The Lacazette chants will be ringing through the night at the Transfer Tavern tonight as the Arsenal fans’ excitement grows about their potential new signing.

Lacazette looks all but set to sign for Arsenal. The French forward could be exactly what is needed at the Emirates to make a serious push for the Premier League title a real possibility.

Obviously, it would be unfair to put all the blame on the likes of Olivier Giroud, goals do win games but there are a lot more problems with Arsenal’s squad when you scratch beneath the surface.

Defensively, they aren’t as solid as a Premier League winning side needs to be and their midfield is full of players riding their successes from the 2012/13 season such as Aaron Ramsey, and players who constantly get injured like Santi Cazorla.

Attacking wise, with Lacazette joining they should be fine, so long as Sanchez and Ozil stay.

On that note, here are the two players Wenger needs to sign after Lacazette, to mount a title challenge.

Kalidou Koulibaly

Picture this, Arsenal fans. Imagine a world where if Koscielny ever gets injured or suspended, Gabriel isn’t the only available replacement.

Kalidou Koulibaly is exactly what Arsenal need, a big, strong, towering defender to build up a dominant partnership with Koscielny.

Only missing a handful of games last season, if Koulibaly played, he played for the full 90.

A determined player who has become one of the best defenders in Serie A over the last few years, a bid big enough might just tempt him away from Napoli.

Fabinho

Wenger has tried and failed so many times over the last few seasons to purchase a competent centre defensive midfielder.

Granit Xhaka is obviously an exception to this rule but with so many attacking players in Arsenals ranks, another CDM wouldn’t hurt them at all.

The problem Arsenal have now isn’t necessarily squad depth, but good players within that depth. If Xhaka gets injured who comes on, Elneny?

He’s not going to win Premier League titles for Arsenal. Fabinho is young, talented, and versatile being able to play as a right back as well as a CDM.

A very smart signing should Wenger perk up some interest in the player.
