Manchester United fans are questioning whether a squad member should be offloaded in the Transfer Tavern today, after hearing reports he wants to remain in the Premier League.
Veteran Spanish goalkeeper Victor Valdes has been ousted from the club’s first-team set-up following a clash with Louis Van Gaal and is expected to leave in January.
However, whilst United would prefer to lose the keeper to a club outside of England, The Evening Standard quotes the player’s agent as confirming Valdes wants to join another Premier League side.
“We are relying on Manchester United letting Victor go. The Premier League is very attractive and Valdes want to stay because he has adapted perfectly to England, but we are not closing the door to any options.”
“There are still two months until the transfer window opens and there is nothing concrete, but the intention is to leave Manchester United.”
United fans at the bar are concerned that this news could lead to one of their direct rivals being boosted by Valdes’ addition, something they’re keen to avoid as they eye success in the title race.
