The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to see a new forward join the club this summer…
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is getting on a bit, whilst Wayne Rooney is simply not good enough to do a job in a red shirt anymore.
However, one player that seemingly won’t be joining the club is Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.
Despite being linked with a move to the club via the Independent, it would seem as though the Polish forward is not content at the manner of Man Utd’s reported interest.
As per ESPN, when questioned on Man Utd’s interest, Lewandowski’s agent responded by saying: “Does any top player in the world want to be a plan B?”.
Of course, he is referring to Man Utd’s reported decision to switch from Griezmann to Lewandowski as primary attacking targets this summer – with the player’s agent clearly feeling that his client is good enough to be first choice.
Our landlord thinks that Lewandowski, who reportedly earns £140k-a-week at the Allianz Arena, could even find himself as a plan B if he were to join the club – with Zlatan Ibrahimovic irreplaceable at the tip of the Man Utd attack.
There is no doubting Lewandowski’s quality, though, with a stellar 19 goals in the Bundesliga this season. The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern certainly think he could give Zlatan a run for his money…
