The Daily Star have Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern looking up keenly as they seem to think Ramires could well be on his way out of the club this winter.
The Brazilian international midfielder has struggled for regular playing time this term and has dropped down the pecking order somewhat, leading to rumours of an exit.
Despite that, his agent claimed: “His departure is unlikely because Ramires has been selected by Jose Mourinho regularly.
“But nothing is final in football.”
Our punters think that whilst it is rather ambitious to describe the playing time Ramires has been handed this reason as ‘regular’, we can understand why Mourinho and Chelsea would be reluctant to allow him to leave given he does tend to play a big part in the second half of the season when injuries and suspensions are rife.
We do however think that he could well leave in the summer once Mourinho has the chance to bring in replacements although if the Blues do manage to land Shakhtar Donetsk’s Douglas Costa this month as another body, that could all change.
