The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed the January transfer window so far. It has been a very exciting window to be a Gunner, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan already through the door – whilst a move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could also be on the horizon.
It’s clearly all changing at the Emirates at present, but fortunately for our resident Gunners, one thing that doesn’t look likely to change anytime soon is the inclusion of Mesut Ozil in the first team – with news of a potential new contract coming out of reports in Germany.
Ozil’s current deal, of course, expires in the summer – with most fans expecting him to follow Alexis Sanchez out of the club before the start of next season.
Now, however, that doesn’t look likely to be the case – and the Arsenal fans on Twitter couldn’t be happier. They’ve taken to the site to reveal their delight at the news, and one supporter has even boldly claimed that – if this news is true – that it could go down as the ‘most important’ signing of Arsenal’s window.
Whether the deal goes through this month remains to be seen, but the groundwork certainly has been done over the last few weeks, so January has clearly been a key month for both Ozil and the Gunners.
