The Leicester fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are hoping that their early business in the window is a sign of positive things to come next season as the Foxes look determined to build a better future under Claude Puel.
After placing 9th in the Premier League last season, the Foxes are surely hopeful of building on that position, as their summer signings suggest. Having already secured the signing of experienced centre-back Jonny Evans, the Foxes have agreed a fee with young English talent James Maddison in the hope that those two can bolster their intent for next season.
Our punters are keen to suggest the signing of Barcelona’s Aleix Vidal, who is valued at £6.7 million on Transfermarkt. The Spaniard fails to achieve significant game-time for the Spanish champions and at the age of 28, Vidal should be looking to play week in, week out to show he still has the ability. Competition will be tough for the versatile player, with Inter Milan hopeful of agreeing a deal but Leicester have already beaten a lot of interest to the signings of Evans and Maddison.
Leicester have a strong squad and one that should consistently challenge the top 10 of the Premier League. Vidal would bring quality in both the right-back position and more forward ones too as an attacking winger, two positions that Leicester will be looking to add quality to with Danny Simpson not reaching the strong form he managed when they won the title a few years ago and Riyad Mahrez looks set to finally get his move away from the club.
