There are certainly raised eyebrows here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by talkSPORT that Arsenal have their eyes on Stuttgart stopper Sven Ulreich.
The goalkeeper has suddenly appeared on the radar of Arsene Wenger and despite being under contract until 2017, the manager is considering making a move for the player.
As we all know by now, Wenger is on the lookout for a keeper and it had been thought that QPR’s Julio Cesar was at the top of his list currently as he will be available for around £5 million this summer. Stuttgart are likely to ask for a significant amount more for their star Ulreich and given the length of his contract that is no surprise.
Despite Wenger having a kitty of £70 million to spend, he is still cautious with his money and knows full well that he needs not only a keeper but also a right back, centre back and potentially a midfielder to replace Abou Diaby next season to boot.
Is there anything in the Ulreich-Arsenal rumours or are they as fruitless as Valdes, Begovic, Adler etc? Rate this rumour below.
