The Everton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are loving life under Ronald Koeman…
The Toffees have enjoyed an excellent start to the 2016/17 season, and currently sit in 6th place in the Premier League.
Koeman invested wisely over the summer, and he has managed to get the best out of a side that has been largely disappointing over the last few seasons.
Champions League football is the target, according to the Everton fans in the Tavern – and our landlord thinks they could do just that.
Several of Everton’s key men have performed well this season – but our punters are keen to find out who has actually been the most important players in Ronald Koeman’s impressive team.
Using whoscored.com, you can find out just how well certain players have been performing – and this will allow us to take a closer look.
With that said, are these THREE really the best Everton players this season?
3rd – Yannick Bolasie – 7.40

Unsurprisingly, according to whoscored.com, Yannick Bolasie is currently sitting in 3rd place – with an average rating of 7.40.
He has impressed since his big money move to Goodison Park, with the Everton fans in the Tavern touting him as an early contender for Player of the Year.
Bolasie has bagged one goal thus far, but his assist tally is even better. He has already got an impressive 4 assists – highlighting how important he is to Ronald Koeman.
Our landlord thinks that his rating is only going to go up.
2nd – Joel Robles – 7.5

In second place is a more surprising pick – Joel Robles.
Granted, Robles has played just one league game for the Toffee’s so far this season – but he looked fantastic in it, picking up a whoscored.com rating of 7.5.
Whilst Stekelenburg is undoubtedly Everton’s first choice goalkeeper, Robles has proven that he can hang with the best of them when called upon – which will give Koeman confidence going forward.
This stat would suggest, though, that Robles is deserving of a prolonged role in the Everton first team – and Koeman would be wise to give him that opportunity.
1st – Romelu Lukaku – 7.75

No surprises here.
Romelu Lukaku has undoubtedly been Everton’s star man this season – and he has been a key reason as to why the Toffees are going so well in the Premier League.
According to whoscored.com, he’s had an average performance rating of 7.75 – enough to challenge any player in the Premier League.
He has already scored an incredible 7 goals, proving why Everton tried so hard to keep him at the club over the summer.
Any success that Everton have this season will depend on how well Lukaku performs – and if his early season form is anything to go by; he looks set to have his best season yet.
