With the Newcastle United fans here in the Transfer Tavern eager for something to cheer them up, the punters clad in black and white who prop up our bar aren’t all too happy.
Indeed, with the Magpies having lost two games on the bounce, talk amongst our Geordie contingent has once again turned toward a lamenting tone in regards to the club’s lack of transfer activity over the course of the summer.
Now, the Newcastle fans who frequent in their droves are up in arms about something else! With Jack Cork having been called up to the England squad in place of Jonjo Shelvey, our drinkers are hugely frustrated. So much has been made about the Three Lions’ lack of creativity outside of Harry Winks and, while a good player, Burnley star Cork doesn’t offer too much in the way of that.
