The latest reports suggest that Arsenal have failed to try and bring in a transfer target as he has favoured Ligue 1 over the Premier League.

Arsenal were reportedly interested in Adil Aouchiche back in May, per ESPN, but now RMC Sport have reported that the attacking player has favoured a move to St.Etienne, managed by former Leicester City manager Claude Puel.
Leicester City, as well as Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen, Lille and Rennes were interested in the player, who was available on a free after not signing a new contract with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

The attacking midfielder has a great record in youth football in France, where he has played 40 times and scored 18 goals, per Transfermarkt. Meanwhile, for PSG, the Frenchman played 10 times in the U19 setup, in the Uefa Youth League, scoring twice and assisting twice. He was then promoted to the senior squad and played three matches, scoring one goal.
It seems like the 18 year-old has a lot of raw potential, and the fact that so many clubs were interested highlights the quality he has, so the Gunners should definitely feel gutted that they missed out on the player.
However it is not the end of the world for Arsenal, they have a wealth of attacking talent, with players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah and Nicolas Pepe all battling for places in the starting eleven. Mikel Arteta also favours a formation which uses central midfielders, but not an attacking midfielder, and therefore the 18 year-old would perhaps not flourish as he would have to be more defensive at the Emirates as he would be pushed further back.
