Arsenal bit part player claims he nearly left the club this winter

Arsenal v Sunderland - Barclays Premier LeagueArsenal fans are eager to hear what the Daily Mail have to say here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they seem to think that Tomas Rosicky came very close to leaving the club in January.

Rosicky hasn’t featured as much as he would have liked under Arsene Wenger and despite that is still a popular player in the Tavern and someone who we think would be able to make a difference to the Gunners had he been given a bigger chance.

The player himself claimed: ‘We had talked about [me leaving in January] in previous meetings back in September and October, but then the market closed and I couldn’t do anything.

‘When you don’t play a single game in December and the market opens, [the prospect of leaving] is obviously on the agenda. Then you start to have second thoughts.’

Despite his limited opportunities, Rosicky has still impressed when he has taken to the field and we think there would be a few clubs chasing after him should the 34-year-old really decide to leave in the summer.

Arsenal fans. Would this have been a massive loss or does Wenger fail to use Rosicky like he should? Let us know your thoughts below.
