Arsenal boss urges Remi Garde to accept Aston Villa job

wengerAs a weekend of great football drawed to a close, our punters here at the Transfer Tavern are still trying to guess the next turn the Aston Villa managerial saga will take.

Former Lyon manager, Remi Garde, is still the hot favorite to take the job, with the Mail on Sunday reporting that his former manager and current Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, has urged him to take the job.

Indeed, you could be forgiven for thinking that Wenger might still be in charge of Garde, after insisting that he should take the job regardless of whether his backroom staff follow him or not.

The make up of Garde’s backroom staff at Villa was a serious point of contention, and was in fact something which many believed may have caused any deal to be off.

However, drawing on his own success and positive experience in the Premier League, Wenger seems the latest person to weigh in on this story.

Villa fans will certainly be hoping for a quick solution to the managerial question, and will be hoping Wenger’s words can bring Garde into the hotseat as soon as possible.

Villa fans….. Would you be happy with Garde? Is he the man to keep you in the league? Let us know below!
