Many Arsenal fans are absolutely elated after seeing summer signing Kieran Tierney in action for the Gunners for the first time.
The former Celtic left-back joined Arsenal in the summer for £25m (BBC) and played his first match versus Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening, coming off in the 77th minute to a standing ovation from the Emirates.
Arsenal came out as 5-0 winners on the night thanks to goals from Rob Holding, Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson and a double from Gabriel Martinelli. Arsenal will now progress into the fourth round of the EFL Cup, where they will face the team currently top of the English footballing pyramid – Liverpool.
Kieran Tierney was given a 7.7 match rating from WhoScored’s algorithm, however, if you see the response from Arsenal fans on Twitter, then you may have assumed he scored a bit higher than that.
The Arsenal Twitter account posted a video of the young Scot’s best moments from Tuesday’s match, to which there was a large fan response.
Fans commented on the crossing ability of the defender, with one saying that Olivier Giroud would have loved him, while other fans compared him to a young Ashley Cole.
