Arsenal fans were happy after Alexandre Lacazette was once again left out of France’s squad for the international fixtures against Andorra and Albania.
Didier Deschamps opted for striking duo Wissam Ben Yedder and Olivier Giroud, instead of Arsenal’s frontman.
Lacazette’s last appearance for the France national team was almost two years ago on the 14th of November 2017, when the 27-year-old scored a brace in a 2-2 draw against Germany.
The Arsenal man was in red hot form for the Gunners last season, scoring 19 goals and assisting a further 13 in all competitions (via Transfermarkt).
His goals proved crucial as Arsenal reached the Europa League final, and narrowly missed out on a place in the Premier League top four.
Fans didn’t seem to mind Lacazette’s continued absence from his nation’s team, instead focusing on how he can steer clear of any unwanted injuries while on international duty.
Here is a selection of tweets from Gooners:
Why don’t I feel sad about this. Gonna inspire Lacazette to keep giving his best. Show the French nation what they missing, plus he gets to be fit. It’s a win win for us.

Even better. He can relax and smash teams after the international break.
