It was recently revealed by outlets such as the Daily Mail that Arsenal would have only £45m to spend in the summer when it comes to making improvements to their squad.
That, however, has not stopped the north London club from looking at multiple targets including RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate.
According to Bild (via ESPN), the Gunners have been sending scouts to go watch the 19-year-old with Unai Emery keen to bolster his options at the back.
The Spaniard, though, faces competition with London rivals Chelsea and West Ham also said to be admirers of Konate.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal’s interest in the Frenchman materialises into a serious offer, especially considering the budget the club is currently operating on.
But assessing how the team have defended this season, Emery could undoubtedly do with the arrival of a new centre-back for the next campaign.
