Arsenal have been long been interested in signing Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele, and when it seemed a dead cert that the La Liga giants would be letting him go, the Gunners were desperate to pounce on him. However, the 21-year-old winger has a 400 million euro release clause and, according to Mundo Deportivo, that’s what you’ll need to pay to sign him.
Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona will only sell Ousmane Dembele for his release clause of £360million.

That sum of 400 million euros translates to roughly £360 million and it’s unlikely that the Gunners will spend that amount across the next four transfer windows, let alone blowing it one player in a mid-season January window. Barcelona will have set the price tag on the basis that no one will agree to pay it, and after the way the Frenchman took his goal against Tottenham last night in the Champions League, you can see why they want to keep him.
Still, there has been growing unrest about the player in Catalonia. Rumours are rife that the ex-Borussia Dortmund man isn’t the most popular figure off the pitch and his continued lack of punctuality is not what is expected of the top players at the club. However, when you’ve got feet like his it’s not too hard to command a massive price tag, no matter what you’re like away from a football pitch.

The Gunners have no faith in their club spending even a quarter of the quoted £360 million, so unless Barcelona changes their stance this won’t be happening.
