Arsenal: Fans praise Shkodran Mustafi after performance versus Eintracht Frankfurt

Arsenal fans were left praising Shkodran Mustafi after the German centre-back’s performance in the 3-0 win away to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Germany international was yet to start a game for Unai Emery’s side before last night’s fixture, having not being named in any squad for the first five Premier League games (via Transfermarkt).

However, it seems a mixture of injuries in defence and poor performances from Sokratis Papastathopoulos and David Luiz against Watford forced Emery into giving the 27-year-old a chance.

The start was a change in tone from the Spanish manager, who earlier in the season advised Mustafi to leave the club and pursue ‘another challenge’ (via The Guardian).
