Arsenal announced on their official website that the French defender had left for Bordeaux in Ligue 1 after nine years with the north London club, where Koscielny made over 350 appearances for the Gunners (per Transfermarkt).
The 33-year-old centre-back refused to travel with the Arsenal squad this pre-season to the US, fueling speculation that the former France international would be off from north London this summer (per the Telegraph).
Despite the way Koscielny left Arsenal, fans still took to social media to thank the defender for all his years of service which saw the defender score in an FA Cup final (per BBC Sport) as well as score important goals that helped the Gunners finish in Champions League places in previous seasons (per BBC Sport).
Here is how some Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter to the news of Koscielny’s departure…

The past couple of weeks might have been sad but it won’t destroy your arsenal legacy for me. Sure you can want to return to France but could have happened in a better way. But all the same I love and appreciate you. I’m gonna miss you man! Thanks for everything Great captain
