Arsenal fans were pleased with recent Emery decision to start Bernd Leno

Arsenal have had a mixed season so far, but their Europa League campaign got off to a great start on Thursday night, with the Gunners winning their first game of the competition.

The end result was a 4-2 win over Vorskla, which immediately puts Arsenal in a commanding position in their group as the English outfit look to progress into the knockout stages of the European competition.

It was a game in which Unai Emery afforded opportunities to a number of fringe players, and one player that made his first major start of the season was Bernd Leno. He’s primarily had to play second-fiddle to Petr Cech thus far, but he was finally given a chance. Whilst he conceded two goals, it was a generally solid performance from the German, with his quality on the ball particularly evident.

Arsenal fans have been quick to respond to his display online, and it’s fair to say that they appear to have been pretty impressed. In fact, they want to see him start again this weekend – with Arsenal set to take on Everton on Sunday.

Looked more assured and confident on the ball than Cech has all season. Goals again where defensive errorors. Surely a run in the league to get us up and running. But alas we have to score at least 3 goals to win by the looks of it!!!
