Arsenal legend Paul Merson believes that the Gunners will beat their bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur comfortably on Sunday.
Merson’s prediction has started to worry the North London faithful, who are worried now the 51-year-old is predicting a comfortable 4-1 win.
The former England international has a record for poor predictions. He famously predicted Leicester City would lose to Sevilla in the last-16 of the Champions League two years ago. The prediction proved to go horribly wrong as Leicester ran out 3-2 winners on aggregate (via The Telegraph).
Last season’s North London derby at the Emirates Stadium proved to be a tight affair in the first half, as Arsenal took the lead before Spurs fought back to lead 2-1 at half-time.
The Reds took charge in the second half as they scored three goals to eventually run out 4-2 winners, with Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Lucas Torreira all scoring.
Fans are sceptical after Merse’s prediction and took to Twitter to tweet their worries.
