Arsenal: Marquinhos and Oleksandr Zinchenko miss training

Both Marquinhos and Oleksandr Zinchenko have reportedly missed training for Arsenal ahead of their clash away at PSV in the UEFA Champions League.
The Lowdown: Zinchenko still injured
Speaking to the media in his pre-game press conference before their 1-1 draw away at Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, Mikel Arteta claimed that Zinchenko is ‘close’ to a return, after suffering a ‘setback’ in his recovery from an injury that he picked up at the start of the season.
The Ukraine international has not played since the North London derby win over Tottenham Hotspur at the start of the month, and has only managed a total of six appearances in all competitions since moving from Manchester City in the summer.
The Latest: Marquinhos misses training
As per football.london, not only has Zinchenko missed team training ahead of Thursday evening’s game at PSV, but Marquinhos has as well.
Having featured three times in the Europa League previously, the young Brazilian would have expected to be in the squad, but now it looks as if he is ‘unwell’.
The Verdict: Another blow
Along with long-term absentees Emile Smith Rowe and Mohamed Elneny, having Marquinhos also potentially on the treatment table as well as Zinchenko will be another blow to Arteta and his squad.
The 19-year-old has impressed in the early stages of his Gunners career, scoring and assisting in the 2-1 win away at FC Zurich in their opening group match, while for the U21s, he has managed three goals and one assist in just three appearances (Transfermarkt).
With the need to rotate Bukayo Saka to make sure that he does not burn out, Marquinhos is a solid alternative option on the right-wing, but it looks as if he could now be a fitness concern.
