Arsenal are plotting a surprise swoop for Liverpool midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to The Sun.
And, as to be expected, a number of Gunners fans have been reacting to recent rumours regarding their former midfielder on social media.
The Sun claim that Arsenal are open to an initial January loan move with the option to make a deal permanent at the end of the season.
Chamberlain, who spent six years in north London before leaving for Merseyside in 2017, is thought to be weighing up the prospect of a reunion at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta.
The 28-year-old has just under two years remaining on his Anfield contract and is reportedly growing frustrated at his lack of game time under Jurgen Klopp.
Arsenal fans react
Well-known Gunners page @AFTVMedia shared the links to Oxlade-Chamberlain on Twitter on Tuesday. This is what these fans had to say in reply, with many not happy and one labelling a deal as a ‘sackable offence’.
“No way the Ox is coming???”
“This is the reason why this club will never progress if all we do is recycle players .”
“What is going on lads. Have we become the Roma of the premier league”
“Rubbish!”
“This is just nonsense. He is another of those injury prone players that we were all pleased to get rid of. Never reached his potential and now past his best. Would be a sackable offence to sign him.”
“I'd rather have Ramsey back. He's equally injury-prone but at least has stamina and can score goals”
