Arsenal: Youri Tielemans swoop ‘firmly on the cards’ for 2023 -Arsenal Transfer Rumours

Arsenal signing Leicester City star Youri Tielemans is now ‘firmly on the cards’ for the summer of 2023, according to journalist Graeme Bailey.

The Lowdown: Arsenal make transfer plans…

Mikel Arteta’s side currently sit top of the Premier League table, having enjoyed a blistering start to the 2022/23 campaign, with champions Manchester City even playing catch-up.

The Gunners are reportedly set to further back their manager in the transfer market as a result, with reports suggesting that they’re set to lodge an improved offer for Palmeiras forward Danilo in January.

Arsenal technical director Edu has arguably done a fine job in stringing together a winning side for Arteta, and the north Londoners are reaping rewards for his shrewd business off the pitch.

Tielemans, who is out of contract at Leicester next year, is another name linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Latest: Bailey makes Tielemans to Arsenal claim…

Speaking to TEAMtalk, Bailey has shared an update on Arsenal’s chances of signing the Belgium international, who could very well be at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The journalist claims that Tielemans won’t be moving to London in January, although a summer move to the Emirates is now ‘firmly on the cards’. TEAMtalk state in their piece that this is ‘most likely to Arsenal’ despite interest from Newcastle United.

Bailey went on to explain: “We know Arsenal like the player a lot and need a midfielder and it is the same with Newcastle United – both could look to try and tempt Leicester.

“But in all likelihood and from what both Rodgers and our sources are saying, it is a free transfer next summer that is firmly on the cards for the Belgian star.”

The Verdict: Great potential business…

Tielemans has dazzled at the King Power Stadium over the last few seasons, memorably scoring the winner in the 2021 FA Cup final, with reporter Robert Lusetich calling him ‘magnificent’.

Signing the 25-year-old for free next summer would come as a great bit of business for Arsenal and would add even more creative quality to Arteta’s already exquisite forward line.
