The Daily Mail has become pretty popular today in the Football Transfer Tavern as they seem to know all about the future of Southampton ace Morgan Schneiderlin and what his latest comments mean for Arsenal.
The Southampton midfielder has long been linked with the Gunners and it seems that he has told his current club that should they fail to finish in the top four of the Premier League and thus miss out on Champions League football next season, he will leave in the summer.
He claimed: ‘Given that, late in the season, Southampton may qualify for the Champions League and I can stay, who knows. I have no desire to be in front of my TV on Tuesday and Wednesday.’
Joining Arsenal may keep him busy for half the season in the middle of the week, but come March, he better get that BT Sport subscription sorted!
This has of course placed Wenger and Arsenal on high alert although as one of our punters jokes, they will have to make sure they finish in their beloved top four spots before they go and attract players who are desperate for Champions League football!
