It looks as though the Gunners are closing in on the end of an era, with Arsene Wenger potentially departing, but it appears as though the club are looking to ensure that some of the most significant players within the Arsenal first team don’t follow him out of the door.
One of the most important players within Arsenal’s side, Mesut Ozil, has, according to the Sun, reportedly been offered a new contract worth an incredible £280,000 per week, with fears reportedly growing that the German could leave the club this summer.
Astonishingly, the Sun are also reporting that Ozil has yet to accept the deal – with the midfielder unsure on his future knowing that he can get significantly more money elsewhere.
This has come as a significant blow to the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern, with the prospect of losing Ozil a particularly concerning one.
Though he hasn’t been his impactful self this season, the German has still bagged 5 goals and 4 assists in the Premier League.
What’s more, it appears as though Alexis Sanchez could leave the club this summer too, with the Chilean reportedly keen to depart the London outfit.
It is going to be a very interesting few months at the Emirates.
