Arsenal have stepped up their interest in Kaua Elias after sending scouts to watch the 20-year-old striker in action for Shakhtar Donetsk, according to The Sun.
The Brazilian reportedly impressed the Gunners’ representatives by producing a perfect hat-trick in Shakhtar’s 5-1 victory over Kudrivka, scoring with a header before finding the net with both his left and right foot.
Elias has been described as “clinical” by scout Ben Mattinson, and his latest display appears to have strengthened Arsenal’s belief that he could develop into a high-level centre-forward.
Arsenal are said to have been monitoring the former Brazil youth international for several weeks, with AC Milan and Porto also keeping tabs on his progress.
Shakhtar are believed to value Elias at around £30 million, a figure Arsenal could consider reasonable given the youngster’s potential.
The striker has impressed with his ability to finish with either foot, attack crosses and remain composed in front of goal. Arsenal’s scouts are understood to have been particularly encouraged by his all-round performance, with the latest outing potentially pushing him closer to becoming a concrete target.
