Arsenal man keen on Emirates departure

The Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern were expecting this…

Mathieu Debuchy’s career trajectory makes for quite unpleasant reading.

After impressing for Lille, the Frenchman finally earned his big move to Newcastle – and his tenure with the Magpies was a pretty good one.

He eventually impressed enough to warrant Arsenal interest – and the Gunners quickly seized the defender, and Debuchy was expected to go from strength to strength at the Emirates.

However, in a very disappointing turn of events for the Arsenal fans in the Tavern, it has never really happened for him. After impressing early doors, an injury forced him out of the side – and he has since been shut out by the fine performances delivered by Hector Bellerin.

Now, fast forward several years – and it would appear that Debuchy is fed up with his bit-part role at the Emirates.

According to the Evening Standard, Debuchy is looking to force through a move out of Arsenal – with his role at the club seemingly decreasing by the week.

Given his lack of game time and the return of Carl Jenkinson, the Arsenal fans aren’t too concerned – and feel that a move is a fairly logical decision for the 31-year-old defender.

Our landlord thinks that Debuchy is definitely good enough to still do it at the highest level though, so he is expecting another Premier League side to come calling.
