Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern praying for a new striker to arrive in January may just have had their prayers answered- but not in the world-class fashion they were hoping for.
CalcioMercato state the Gunners are one of several European giants eyeing a move for Anderlecht striker Aaron Leya, who has made nine appearances this season despite being just 17-years-old.
The teenager is being tracked ahead of a potential swoop from Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who has a keen eye for young talent having secured the likes of Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Hector Bellerin and Calum Chambers; all of whom are now first-team regulars.
However fans in the bar have expressed their concerns regarding this potential deal as they point out Wenger has a hit-and-miss record when it comes to strikers, pointing to Yaya Sanogo as the prime example and declaring Joel Campbell is similar.
They’ll be disappointed then that Metro suggest Arsenal are extremely keen on the potential transfer, who could arrive in January to strengthen the Gunners’ options.
Nevertheless, football is in the blood of young Aaron Leya Iseka- as he is the younger brother of Marseille ace Michy Batshuayi.
