Arsenal are enjoying a remarkable season and remain in contention on multiple fronts.
Mikel Arteta’s side are through to the EFL Cup final, top of the Premier League with eight matches remaining, progressing strongly in the Champions League and still competing in the FA Cup.
While there is plenty left to play for, the club are already thinking ahead to the summer transfer window.
Arteta is determined to keep improving his squad rather than stand still, and reports suggest Arsenal are now keeping a close eye on one experienced European attacker who could soon become available.
Arsenal Monitoring Brandt
Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Borussia Dortmund attacker Julian Brandt, who is expected to leave the German club when his contract expires this summer.
The 29-year-old joined Dortmund from Bayer Leverkusen in 2019 in a deal worth around €25 million (£21.6 million). Since then, he has been a consistent presence for the Bundesliga side, making nearly 300 appearances in all competitions.
During his time at the club, Brandt — once described as “outstanding” by teammate Nico Schlotterbeck — has registered 56 goals and 69 assists. However, Dortmund’s DFB-Pokal triumph in 2021 remains the only major trophy he has lifted during his seven years at the Westfalenstadion.
With his contract running down, reports from Sky Deutschland claim that Brandt has made a firm decision to move on at the end of the 2025/26 campaign. That means he could become available as a free agent, making him an attractive option for clubs across Europe.
The report adds that potential moves to England, Spain or Italy are all appealing possibilities for the Germany international. Spain is viewed as a particularly realistic destination, partly due to Brandt’s personal ties and familiarity with the language.
Arsenal are believed to be among the clubs monitoring the situation, having previously shown interest in the versatile attacker. His ability to operate as both a winger and attacking midfielder could make him a useful addition to Arteta’s squad.
With Brandt set to become a free agent, he could represent a valuable opportunity in the transfer market. Arsenal’s interest suggests they are keeping all options open as they look to strengthen an already impressive squad ahead of next season.
