Hector Bellerin’s contractual situation has been a long-debated topic in the Football Transfer Tavern – and it would appear that we are finally steaming ahead towards a conclusion.
According to the Evening Standard, Hector Bellerin’s long-awaited new contract looks set to be announced within the next 24 hours.
They add that a new 6-and-a-half-year contract is on the cards, with the deal worth more than £100,000 per week.
We knew the news was coming, after the Mirror reported that a deal had been agreed several weeks ago.
This has come as a huge relief for the Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern, many of whom were fearful that Bellerin could leave the club following reported interest from across Europe.
Bellerin’s importance for the Gunners this season is clear for all to see, having made 11 starts in the Premier League so far this season. Though he is currently sidelined with an injury, the Arsenal fans are delighted with the contributions that he has made.
Since making his Arsenal debut in 2014, Bellerin has quickly risen through the ranks – having taken over the mantle from Mathieu Debuchy on the right-hand side of the Arsenal defence.
