Metro have Arsenal fans looking up with some interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they hear that the publication seem to think one of their strikers is set for a loan spell.

Yaya Sanogo is the man in question with Ligue 1 side Bordeaux keen on a loan spell come the start of the January transfer window.

Given the North London side have been heavily linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani in recent days, the first team chances for Sanogo could well be fewer than they currently are right now.

As one of our punters notes, we don’t really think that Sanogo is actually good enough for the Gunners but in order for him to even get enough confidence to manage to find the back of the net, playing time is a must.

It is pretty clear that he is behind both Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud in the Gunners’ attacking pecking order at the minute meaning a loan spell could at the Stade Chaban Delmas be ideal.
