This is a huge blow for the Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…
There is a renewed dose of optimism amongst the Gunners faithful in the Football Transfer Tavern this season, with Wenger leading his team impressively thus far; but there has been one outstanding criticism of his team.
A few of the more cynical punters in the Tavern have claimed that Arsenal have been over-reliant on certain players this season – and one name that often crops up in that vein is Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean has been keeping Olivier Giroud out of the Arsenal first team thus far, and has been a constant under Wenger – and that over-reliance will now be worrying the Arsenal faithful in the Tavern.
He was injured in training whilst on international duty this week – and it would appear that the Arsenal fans’ worst fears have been realised: according to the Sun, he could be out for up to 6 weeks.
They add that whilst he is set to have a scan on the injury to find out the true extent, it is reportedly believed that he could be out for up to 6 weeks; meaning he is set to miss a long run of important games for the Gunners – including a clash against Man Utd.
This is a huge blow for the Gunners in the Tavern, given that they have relied heavily upon Sanchez so far.
Our landlord thinks that this period will be crucial for Arsenal – and a few good performances without Sanchez might prove their credentials in the title race this season.
