The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are being awfully quiet today…
After a humiliating 5-1 loss to Bayern Munich in the first leg, many in the Transfer Tavern thought that things could only get better. What came last night was certainly a surprise, then, with the Gunners failing to learn from their mistakes and falling, once again, to another 5-1 defeat.
For the first time in years, the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are nearly unanimous in their desire for change at the Emirates – with many calling for Arsene Wenger to leave – but it seems as though one vital Arsenal player remains firmly in the ‘Wenger in’ brigade.
Despite the defeat last night, Hector Bellerin spoke defiantly to FourFourTwo, stating: “The whole team is behind the manager. He’s the one who has made the team work”.
Questioned on whether he wanted Wenger to stay, he said: “Of course. It’s as simple as that”.
Hector Bellerin is clearly firmly behind Wenger, but for the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern, a departure is the only way forward for the club.
The Gunners have really struggled to compete lately, and, for many, that stagnation can only be changed by the introduction of a new manager.
There has been no such criticism of Bellerin, though, with the Spaniard proving vital this season. He has made 19 appearances so far.
