There are disappointed faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by GiveMeFootball that Arsenal are set to suffer a huge blow with one of their top targets committing his future to Schalke.
Arsene Wenger had been chasing Julian Draxler for some time now and was confident of landing the player as the summer approached.
Now it seems that was all for nothing and as one of our punters quips, a typical waste of time for Wenger and his side. Given that Draxler has now penned a deal with the German giants that will take him through until 2018 that does seem hard to disagree with and Wenger now is faced with the all too familiar task of having to look elsewhere.
The 19-year-old starlet had been linked with a move away from the German club and Arsenal were thought to be leading the pack for the player with Borussia Dortmund in a close second now it seems that both clubs are set to face disappointment with one of the brightest young players around at the minute set to announce his new long term deal in the coming days.
