Punters are looking up with interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Mail claim that both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are ready to fight it out for Diego Poyet.
The young star is out of contract at Charlton Athletic in the summer and has attracted the attention of a host of Premier League sides and also some of Europe’s elite to boot.
Now it seems that the North London duo are ready to fight it out for Gus Poyet’s son and ensure that they land his signature.
“Now that I’ve started playing in the first team people compare me to my dad,” the starlet claimed.
“But then they realise we’re nothing like each other in terms of our position.”
Despite being out of contract and available on a free this summer, he would of be subject to a fee given his tender age, yet our punters seem to think that is worth it.
Poyet senior of course spent some time playing at Tottenham Hotspur and also Chelsea, and as our punters note over a game of pool, we think that connection could well push Spurs to the head of the queue.
Which club is better placed to handle Poyet’s development? Let us know your thoughts below.
